Maverick City Music comprises a diverse collection of artists who identify with contemporary Christian music. The members are a multi-race group who wish to express themselves through music. The group also collaborates with notable Christian singers such as Joe L. Barnes, Naomi Raine, Chandler Moore, Jonathan McReynolds, and many more. Some of the more outstanding recent singles include “Promises,” “Jireh,” “Million Little Miracles,” and “Old Church Basement.” Throughout its four-year presence in the music scene, the group has released eight live albums. The group’s 2021 album, Old Church Basement, won the 2022 Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. In addition to several Grammy nominations and one Grammy win, Maverick City Music has received numerous accolades, including two GMA Dove Awards and a Billboard Music Award.
Grammy Award-winning artist Kirk Franklin joins Maverick City Music on the Kingdom Tour this 2022. The “Reigning King of Urban Gospel” will also participate in the group’s upcoming live album, Kingdom. Franklin has been topping the gospel charts for most of his career. His highly-acclaimed solo albums and collaborative albums have won numerous awards, including 22 GMA Dove Awards, 16 Grammy Awards, 23 Stellar Awards, and many more.
